Environmental Impact

Our Environmental Commitments & Values

As a part of our ISO 14001:2015 commitments and objectives, we focus on our resource consumption, efficiency and reduction. Reusing and recycling are heavily valued within our company and are key components of our social responsibility efforts.

Our Operations Team believes in cradle to cradle and reuses all packaging received from supplier orders that is vetted as fit for use. All newly purchased packaging is either recycled or biodegradable and comes from ISO approved suppliers. Colour coded wheely bins are provided to ensure effective separation of waste and reusable packaging to eliminate and minimise non-recyclable waste. Currently we have attained a figure of 7.76% waste to landfill, which means over 92% of our waste is being diverted away from landfill to be reused or recycled. 100% of all paper/cardboard received into the warehouse, which is not fit for use, is recycled locally.

More than 94% of all received packaging is reused in Operational activities.

“I treat it like part of my home” – Head Office Warehouse Manager

We have implemented customer service e-invoicing throughout our systems and are currently tracking at 99.9% e-compliance. To further improve our resource management, we have limited all in house paper consumption with digital filing, digital contracts and digital correspondence.

Energy efficiency policies are used to conserve energy output and reduce carbon emissions.

Company Objectives

  • Maintain ISO 14001:2015 UKAS accreditation
  • Commitment towards net zero targets
  • Strategizing for the 2030 ban on new petrol & diesel cars – converting company cars to hybrids where possible
  • Using sustainable suppliers within the supply chain
  • Use local suppliers & reduce carbon footprint for deliveries to us

Carbon offset

To offset the impact of our business courier activities to our customers, we use the UPS carbon neutral shipments scheme. The UPS carbon neutral option supports projects that offset the emissions of the shipment’s transport.

UPS has supported projects that include reforestation, landfill gas destruction, wastewater treatment, and methane destruction.

UPS is also committed to electrification of their vehicle fleet and have already begun rolling out their bespoke designed vehicles in the UK, with their investment supporting the development of technology that will improve the viability of fleet charging across the UK.
